Genre Case Study Assignment #1 These movie posters are all based around one common genre: romance. This might be easy to guess based on the way the main characters are posed lovingly or the euphonious titles; however, the depth of romance posters goes much farther than that. For starters, all these movie posters use a relatively similar font, with only slight differences in size and thickness. They also all show the main characters fading into a scenery that most likely will be the main setting for the movie. The colors for all these posters are bold yet hazy, almost appearing like a dream or memory. As mentioned before, the characters are all posed lovingly towards each other, whether its dancing, kissing, or staring into each others eyes. Producers fall back on this similar iconography because it gives the audience a clear idea of what this movie will be about and peaks their interest.
